I'm the fifth child of my parents but I'm also the first Son of my parents. I have four sisters before me. They are all married. I have another younger brother.
My dad is an Engineer. His name is Abul Bashar Mohammed Abdul Kabir. Kind of long, huh! He writes A.B.M.A. Kabir in short. All his life, he worked in Roads and Highways (R&H),a government company. He retired in 1997 as an Additional Cheif Engineer.Now he's working in Design and Development Corp.(DDC) as a consultant. I always had a dream that one day I'll work in a government company too. By working in the Department of Social Services (DSS) in Jefferson city, Missouri, my dream came true.
My mom is a house wife. Her name is Shajeda Kabir. All her life, she took care of us. She had to sacrifice lots of things that she could do because of us. I didn't understand that a long long time, but now staying thousands miles from her and my dad, I know what they are. I miss them very very much.
Two of my four sisters are house wifes. The 3rd one is a teacher in college. teaching psychology. The last one is working in a computer company. First two has their degrees but they rather stay home and take care of their familes. They have six children all together. The eldest one is expecting another one. Each of them is worse(!) than other. They always get on your nurve but I love each of them very very much.
My brother, youngest of all, has finished his undergrad from Ahsanullah Engineering University on Computer Engineering. Right now he's working in Software Company where he will work on Java. Same as me, huh!
Among my brother-in-laws, two of them are Engineers, One is Psychologist and the last one is Associate Professor of Dhaka University in Management Department.
That's the all family I have now so far. Next whoever comes will be my 'wife'(?) or my sisters'child (for God sake, not any more). And guess what both of them are coming pretty soon. I am getting married in February 2000 inshallah and my first sister is expecting a child on March. WOW!
Well I should mention about my first cousins. Among many of them I have two who are in my age. One is with me (in US) right now. He's name is Caesar. His also studying MSIT and going to finish by Spring'2000. He finished MBA back in my country before he came to US. He's my best friend now and because of him I dont miss my family as much as I used to. He's getting married pretty soon too. Met his girlfriend on the internet. Talk about internet growing last few years.
The other one is a Musical Genius. Well at least in my point of view. His name is Shaon. He can play any instrument but he's best in Keyboard and composition of the music.When he plays, it sounds so good that I always feel jelous that I can't play like him. He's back home and doing a business. Music is not his profession. And he's engaged too.
There are many cousins that I haven't mention, because if I do then it would be a Book (?). So please dont mind. They know that I love them all.
